Have you wondered what fall looks like in Hawai'i?
Well this justifies just that. Absolutely no colored changing leaves or temperature change. As a matter of fact today was 88 degrees out with 88% humidity.
While I was on Maui for the weekend after coming back from my Japan trip, I stopped off at the Kula Country Farms to choose a pumpkin to carve. Kula Farms is so beautiful as it over looks the West Maui mountains and blue ocean.
I walked around the farm to find the perfect pumpkin. It took some time. But here is the outfit I decided to wear that day. I am spotted wearing a multi-colored floral jumpsuit. I purchased it this past summer from Topshop. It's cute, comfy, and a good quality jumpsuit. I paired it with a black Michael Kors purse, Quay sunglasses, and black Steve Madden slip-ons.
LOOK! I found the pumpkin that was coming home with me! Also, as you can see the detailing on the front of the jumpsuit is cute. I highly recommend, if this is your style. I believe it might still be available. Checkout Nordstrom or the Topshop website.
The colors are so beautiful. I visited the pumpkin patch a day before Halloween and look how many pumpkins are still left. I remember going in the past and if I had waited this long to visit the farm, there definitely would not have been any pumpkins left. But, I am glad I was able to find a pumpkin to carve.
After visiting Kula Farms, on the way back home, my boyfriend and I stopped off at Mo Ono to get an acai bowl. These acai bowls are our favorite. Mo Ono is located across the street from the Costco gas station located in a purple food truck. If you haven't tried this acai bowl, you're seriously missing out. Lastly, as the night got dark, my boyfriend and I carved the pumpkin we got at Kula Farms. We decided to carve out "Trick or Treat." I think it came out goodly!
life update: i'm graduating!
I'm graduating! It may have taken 5 1/2 years, but hey I did it and proved so many people wrong by doing so. Growing up, I was doubted so much by those around me in school, and was told my dream in the fashion industry will never happen because "it's too competitive." I never once was doubted by my immediate family, nor did my immediate family tell me I had to major in something else where a job and good money is guaranteed after graduation. I stuck to my dream and pursued it. I am happy to say I will be graduating with my BS in Fashion Design and Merchandising from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in December. I am graduating December 16th and I will be starting my first full-time job IN the FASHION INDUSTRY on December 18th. I can't wait and I am so excited for my future in the industry.
With that being said, while I was in Maui, I took my graduation pictures. Funny story, I wanted to take my pictures at Waihou Springs amongst the trees. Well, it has been a while since I have hiked that trail so I decided to use Siri to get me to Waihou Springs. Biggest mistake ever. Siri took us on this back narrow and bumpy road. We were surrounded by trees and debris everywhere. It seemed very sketchy so we turned around. We tried again and Siri directed us to another route so, we followed. Sure enough, it was the wrong route AGAIN. I was so annoyed as it was around 5:15pm and the sunset was at 5:52pm. We were slowly losing sunlight. I suggested to pull off on the side of the road to take some photos as I spent an hour on my hair and an hour on my makeup. I wasn't about to waste it. So, we did just that. Pulled off on the side of the road and went past a gate that said: "do not enter." My boyfriends best friend, Josh Forde took the photos with his new $2k Panasonic camera. The photos below have no editing done to them. Isn't that amazing?! I was blown away. I definitely thought my face was going to need some touch-ups.
My boyfriend and I posed for some couple pictures.
I couldn't help myself and be serious the whole time during the shoot.
Well that is all for now. Check out my "fashion" and "my makeup" tab from the above menu as I have also posted there this week as well. I hope you all have enjoyed this weeks 3 postings. I will be back again next week Saturday for another new post!
